About the Stadium
The Azteca is the only stadium to have hosted two World Cup finals — 1970 (Brazil 4–1 Italy) and 1986 (Argentina 3–2 West Germany, the "Hand of God" tournament). It is the largest stadium in Mexico and one of the most atmospheric venues in football. The opening match of WC2026 is played here: Mexico vs South Africa.
